From Dune by Frank Herbert (1965), Book One. A spice harvester is still working on the open sand when the wormsign comes, and the worm rises and takes the whole machine. Of every scene in Dune, this is the one I most wanted to see on a wall.
I gave it the look of a Japanese colour woodblock from the 1830s: crisp outlines, flat colour with the grain of the wood showing through, a soft blue sky fading into cream. A world this vast seemed to need that calm, careful style to hold it. My favourite detail is the two tiny cloaked figures on the far dune, just watching.
Style after Japanese colour woodblock prints of the 1830s.
I create each scene with AI image tools, then art-direct and refine it until it feels right. It isn't a hand-cut woodblock or an original print. Each one carries my printed "Chapter & Scene" signature in the margin.
A4 or A3, unframed or framed. Every print is made to order on heavyweight 200gsm+ archival matte paper at full print quality (300 DPI). Frames are slim pine, in black, white or natural oak, with shatter-resistant plexiglass and no mount, so the print's own cream margin is the border. Framed prints arrive ready to hang. Free delivery to the UK and US.
