Inspired by the Rogue One novel by Alexander Freed (2016) and the battle on Scarif. A handful of rebels are fighting among the palms of a paradise planet so the plans can reach the fleet. Starfighters scream in low over the lagoon, a walker burns on the far shore and another strides through the trees. I love how wrong it looks: the most beautiful place in Star Wars, and the most desperate fight. An inspired-by print: no actors and nothing copied from the film.
Van Gogh's late brushwork: thick, swirling impasto, spiral clouds and saturated colour. Every wave, palm and plume of smoke is built from heavy, directional strokes, so the whole battle seems to move. Turquoise sea, white sand and a bright sky, with black smoke curling through it.
The look is inspired by Vincent van Gogh's "Wheatfield with Crows" (1890): its restless strokes and churning sky. Only the brushwork is borrowed; there is no wheatfield and no crows here, and the battle is my own composition.
I create each scene with AI image tools, then art-direct and refine it until it feels right. It's a print of a digital artwork made in the style of Van Gogh, not a Van Gogh and not a hand-painted original. A typeset caption under the picture names the book, the moment and the style that inspired it. Each one carries my printed "Chapter & Scene" signature in the margin.
A4 or A3 landscape, unframed or framed. Every print is made to order on heavyweight 200gsm+ archival matte paper at full print quality (300 DPI). Frames are slim pine, in black, white or natural oak, with shatter-resistant plexiglass and no mount, so the print's own cream margin is the border. Framed prints arrive ready to hang. Free delivery to the UK and US, tracked on most orders. Small unframed prints going to the US are sent untracked.
